About me
Not your typical design background
I’ve spent the last six years in UX and product design, built on a foundation in systems engineering and development. Turns out combining an engineer’s brain with a genuine obsession for how things feel to use makes for an interesting design career.
Currently leading the experience design work-stream for Spark New Zealand‘s new app, delivered with AKQA.

It started with my first computer
I’ve stayed close to tech since. I worked in IT support, systems engineering, then in pre-sales and solution design. I moved into marketing because I was curious about our customers, and then into development because I wanted to understand how the things I was designing were built.
Design was where it all clicked. That background still shapes how I work. I’m curious and comfortable in technical conversations, I take pride in designs that customers love and engineers can build, and I rarely need someone to translate between disciplines.
What I bring to the table
I work across the full experience spectrum: IA and interaction design through to design system architecture and product delivery. I hold certifications in ICAgile Product Ownership and Web Development, and I’ve shipped work ranging from large-scale end-to-end programmes to brand and web for schools, non-profits, and professional services firms.
